The Travelling Architecture Workshop, which has been running since 2013, is a project that aims to encourage children and young people to be active creators of their own environment, to activate community activity and citizenship in the smallest towns of Lithuania. We want to show that environmental improvement can be a fun, playful and engaging activity that can be implemented in realistic, material and human resource-light ways.

During the workshop, we create tangible projects with lasting value in public spaces that will bring the community together and encourage the continuation of the project. Workshop participants explore their own environment and create new spaces and small architectural objects, not only for themselves, but also for the entire population of the town.

In 2013, the project was initiated by a team of architects: Adelė Dovydavičiūtė, Audrius Žalneravičius, Aurelija Slapikaitė-Jurkonė, Džiugas Kisielius, Evelina Vasiliauskaitė, Gintarė Gajauskaitė, Ignas Lukauskas, Kristina Barniškytė, Laima Čijunskaitė, Mantas Timaitis, Marius Bliujus, Margarita Kaučikaitė, Milda Kulvičiūtė, Monika Dvarionaitė, Rolandas Palekas, Rūta Makutėnaitė, Sandra Šlepikaitė, and Tomas Balčiūnas. Co-authors of the project: Agnė Motiejauskaitė, Aurimas Zdanavičius, Evelina Sabeckaitė, Ieva Saldauskaitė, Justinas Malinauskas, Karolina Štreimikytė, Karolina Želvė, Rasa Chmieliauskaitė, Rasa Cėplaitė, Sigita Simona Paplauskaitė, and Viltautė Žvirzdinaitė.
