the subconscious is the plane/variable that requires the most theoretical and practical investigation and will be the focus of future experiments.

_dream library_

delving into the subconscious started with the development of the concept of dream library. dreams sent through various channels are cataloged, keywords and symbols are clarified and written out. the purpose of this dream catalog is not to practice oneirocriticism – there is no attempt to interpret the events experienced in dreams, to read signs, or to predict future events. it is also not a psychotherapeutic process: the dream librarian can ask questions with the aim of finding out as many details as possible, describing the dream as fully as possible, perhaps finding out the dreamer’s context and personal relationship with the elements of the dream, but not to create a psychological portrait of its author, not to diagnose or provide a treatment. narrating a dream is an action that encourages introspection, but the extent to which the dreamer will use it is his individual decision.

the purpose of the dream library is to bring the importance of the dream back, to consolidate its position in modern reality, where sleep is a) relegated as a cardinally unproductive moment of the daily to-do list that must be minimalized; b) sleep is only seen as an act of recreation and self-care: the sleeping hours, room temperature, bedding fabric or mattress quality are important, while the content of the nocturnal vision itself is left behind as a side-effect.

it happened naturally, that over time, in the stories of people who regularly submit their dreams to the library, recurring motifs and their patterns, a tendency to generate specific environments or experience homogeneous states, is being noticed. in such a case, one wants to draw conclusions, but it is advised to refrain from this rushed urge: treat tendencies and patterns as data from the database rather than as a therapeutic tool. let the dream library be just that – an institution where dream is being cherished, where only its narrative and content matters. the contextual baggage is left at the door – it will be brought back into focus at other levels of the experiment.

the dream library is a tool of special significance for the future dream interpreter, follower of Artemidorus and other oneirocritics, dream therapist of the new generation. it’s a habit-forming tool for dream-sharing that, when made available to the general public, will gradually erode the mental barrier of discomfort or shame that holds you back from opening up.

after gradually accustoming the dreamers, first of all, not to let go of the dream as soon as they wake up, and secondly, to present it as an object worthy of attention, it will be possible to start the second stage of the experiment: individual or group work with the dreamers, during which it will actually be possible to try to analyze the origin and causality of the dreamed events, to interpret the signs, symbols, to draw bridges between allegories, to delve into the layers of the individual and collective subconscious.

but what if the dream dissolves as soon as you wake up?

first, answer the following questions:

_do you jump out of bed as soon as you hear the alarm clock, rushing to start the day? do you pick up your phone and scroll mindlessly  for a few minutes, hoping that the blue light will bring you out of your lethargic state?
_have you ever shared dreams with someone else – and has a dream been shared with you at least once?
_if you rarely remember dreams, how exceptional were the ones you remember?
_what is the last thing you do before you close your eyes at night?

in order to hold the dream, to protect it from eternal disappearance, it is necessary to devote at least a few minutes of morning routine to it. as soon as you wake up – to hold back the last image before your eyes, to feel the taste of the dream state, to catch at least one keyword. retell it in your mind. write it down and share with a friend. the dream must be welcomed as a guest where we prepare an extra bed and fresh bedding.

if before going to sleep one of the rituals was performed – it is recommended to document it and fill out the questionnaire.
