Contemporary discourse is shifting from the anthropocene and we want to explore this peculiar way of viewing the world in crisis.

Inspired by lichen’s symbiotic lifestyle and their sensitivity to their habitat we experimented with creating interventions in abandoned places.

While exploring Kalnų parkas area we found a couple of abandoned sites in different stages of repurposing. On July 20 one of the first workshops was held there.

By collecting lichens, blending a paste out of them and painting geometrical forms in those chosen abandoned sites we want to invite people to notice abandoned places in urban environments and to take care of their surroundings. Local communities should have a feeling that they can make an impact on their environment and reclaim abandoned buildings in the area.

We hope that this portrayal of the abandoned urban environments gives an architectural experience of high phenomenological value by providing a path to this experience.
